Dennis Bauser, a.k.a. SINNED, is a painter, designer and carpenter who has lived in NYC since 1993. He fell in love with color, contour, and texture at an early age, being heavily inspired by the cartoons, video games, and skateboard graphics from his childhood. He received an Associates Degree from FIT and a Bachelors Degree in Communications Design at Pratt.
The New York City nightclub scene of the early 1990’s was influential in shaping his earlier works, being showcased at venues like the Limelight and CBGB’s Gallery. His paintings and sculptures from that time period reflected a carefree culture turned decadent.
Over the past decade, his fascination with ancient tribal rituals, artifacts and various spiritual beliefs has heavily influenced his paintings and illustrations. The characters in his works represent multiple layers of emotions, often defending themselves with masks, weapons, and totems or creature companions to guide them.
He’s painted in mural festivals worldwide and is an annual participant of the Welling Court Mural Project in Queens, NYC. His #BoxTruckGuardians murals can be seen on numerous box trucks roaming the streets of New York City.
He paints his murals with the assistance of his partner and wife, Maria Bauser a.k.a. Ria @riaburnswilder.
